¡CALLE 13, MY FAVORITE GROUP OF MUSIC!

Calle 13 was a Puerto Rican band that throughout its musical trajectory produced different songs that open the eyes to reality through their social discourse and controversial themes. Also, they promote the search for identity and resistance to oppression.

They commented on the Latin American situation through their songs, which are imbued with a direct protest against political, social and economic regimes, as well as the problems of inequality, repression, discrimination, wars and dictatorships, while appealing to a regional identity that can awaken everyone from that blinding lethargy.

The members of Calle 13 are known for the social content of their comments, statements and songs about controversial issues of current Latin American affairs. This attitude was also evident in their campaigns. Some of them were in favor of the decolonization of Puerto Rico from the United States, against the carrying of weapons and human trafficking, about irregularities in the media, the search for justice for murders and the defense of free public education.

I personally love them, I think they are harmonious enough to create lyrics with a meaning beyond the aesthetic ones. However, the group disbanded some time ago.
